Methanol is used as raw material in the chemical industry for manufacturing a wide range of value-added products: medicine, synthetic fibres, lacquers and paints, synthetic resins, additives for car-fuels, formaldehyde, dimethylterephthalate, antifreeze. Methanol is also used for chemical synthesis, denaturant for ethanol, dehydrator for natural gas, fuel for utility plants.
